Browsing without accounts or forms

When you email us
If you contact us voluntarily, we process the sending address, any name you include, the message, attachments and the technical metadata needed to manage the conversation. The purpose is to reply, review corrections or sources and handle potential collaborations. Messages are not added to advertising lists.
Email routing and providers
Messages sent to the project address are forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to a verified destination mailbox. Cloudflare and the mailbox provider may process technical information under their own terms and policies.
Retention
Conversations are kept for the period reasonably needed to answer and preserve the context of the request. They may be retained longer when necessary for security, legal claims or applicable obligations.
Rights and requests
You may request access, correction, deletion, objection or restriction concerning personal data included in a conversation by writing to contacto@estrechogibraltar.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
External services
Loading the AIS radar connects your browser to MarineTraffic. The seismic map uses OpenStreetMap/Carto tiles and Leaflet. These providers may receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser and referrer.
Hosting and scientific data
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may record technical access information under its policy. Published JSON files contain scientific data and public sources, not personal visitor profiles.
Future advertising or analytics
Before adding advertising or analytics that require consent, an appropriate mechanism will be introduced for European Economic Area visitors and this policy will be updated.
